Tatami mats – also known as judo or dojo mats – must be handled with care.
The tatami mats are stacked in the large Dojo (Dojo-Saal) and are available to guests using the space for martial arts or movement-based practices such as aikido, judo, BJJ, krav maga, yoga, and more.

As the mats are sometimes misused by guests who are not training in the hall, they are secured with a combination lock for safety reasons.
Guests who use the Dojo-Saal for training will receive the code by text message or e-mail.
To ensure the mats remain in good condition for all users, please follow these guidelines:
Mats may only be used barefoot or with soft socks. Footwear is not allowed.
No food, drinks, or objects should be placed on the mats.
After use, the mats must be returned clean, dry, and straight to their designated place, as shown in the reference photo.
When stacking: vinyl side on vinyl side, anti-slip side on anti-slip side – to preserve their shape and function.
Thank you for treating the equipment with care and respect.
The red trunk is locked and therefore not accessible to guests because the owners’ kamidana is in there. The kamidana for aikido consists of the photo of Morihei Ueshiba, vases for fresh flowers, and a number of (antique) artefacts.
The intention is that those who rent the dojo bring their own kamidana (e.g. a photo of Jigoro Kano for judo).
